Into the new year with verve: the Hanover State Opera invites you to a festive musical prelude to 2026 and revives the golden sounds of 1926. Opera, operetta, jazz and symphonic music come together in an entertaining concert - lively, surprising and stylishly celebrated.

1926 was one of the most important years in music history: the many musical styles of the "Golden Twenties" clashed in legendary fashion. The posthumous premiere of Giacomo Puccini's Turandot, the best time of Emmerich Kálmán and co. - and the young Dmitri Shostakovich presented his very first symphony over in St. Petersburg. We are celebrating the year 1926, exactly 100 years later. With works that were premiered in 1926 - or works that were on the program in Hanover in 1926. This unique concert will be wittily presented by our artistic director Bodo Busse and dramaturge Arno Lücker at his side.
