An evening of dance full of contrasts and power: with La Valse/Le Sacre du printemps, Theater Erfurt brings two milestones of modern ballet to the stage - a visual and aural experience between waltz romance and archaic elemental force.
In the first part, Stephan Thoss' choreography to music by Maurice Ravel and Jean Sibelius shows a snowy landscape in which memory and oblivion merge through body language and sound. The second part features the work by Igor Stravinsky - "Le Sacre du printemps" - choreographed by Edward Clug. Here, the element of water becomes a driving metaphor: a powerful rain frees the ground from the burden of winter and new forces of life burst forth.
This impressive duo production breathes new life into two epochal works - powerful, poetic and full of movement. Anyone who wants to experience dance as the language of the body, music as the primal language of emotions, will find this evening an impressive experience.
