A multi-layered start to the new concert season: with the Symphony Concerto No. 1 "Classical", the Lüneburg Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Gaudens Bieri presents a varied program ranging from Baroque concertos to classical masters and Romanticism - accompanied by star pianist Matthias Kirschnereit.
By the term "classical music" we mean, on the one hand, the broad style on which our orchestral tradition is based and, on the other, the term is often equated with "Viennese classical music" and the composers Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven.
In this concert, we would like to present the different genres in one program: The Concerto Grosso by a contemporary composer as a precursor to the symphony, a piano concerto with our best-known soloist from last season, the first of Beethoven's symphonies and, as an introduction to the concert, an overture that already points the way to the Romantic period.
