When over 200,000 lights illuminate the alleyways of the mountain village in Bad Hindelang, the world seems to stand still for a moment. The Bad Hindelang Christmas market experience is no ordinary market, but a total work of art made up of light, sound and living traditions. Over 130 lovingly decorated huts invite you to stroll, marvel and enjoy. Between handmade Christmas tree decorations, fine wood carvings and the tempting aromas of mulled wine, cinnamon and fresh waffles, the whole sensuality of the Advent season unfolds.

One highlight is the Christmas and fairytale parades, which are unique in Germany and turn the whole village into a stage: Over 160 figures - from angels, shepherds and snow queens to mythical creatures and legendary figures - parade through the streets in shimmering costumes and tell of old times, miracles and winter dreams. The interplay of light, music and drama lends these evenings an almost fairytale-like intensity.
However, Bad Hindelang's Advent is not just about the glitter, but also about its soul. Musical events such as the Shepherds' Advent or the Ostrachtal Advent Singing in the Kurhaus fill the cold nights with warm sounds. And on December 5 and 6, when the "Klausen" - clad in fur robes, with bells and rods - parade through the alleyways, centuries-old traditions come to life.
