An impressive baroque ensemble of unique unity: the Fulda Baroque Quarter brings together the magnificent buildings from the 18th century within a short distance. Only a few hundred meters apart are the famous Dientzenhofer Cathedral and the city palace, which was also extended and baroqueized according to the plans of the famous architect. It served the prince abbots and prince-bishops of Fulda as a magnificent residence. It includes the adjoining extensive palace garden with the baroque orangery and the magnificent floral vase. Together, they still bear impressive witness to the former rulers' sense of prestige.

Stone witnesses of baroque splendor
Another Baroque eye-catcher is the Paulus Gate, which once separated the town and monastery districts and was only moved to its current location in 1771. It originally stood between the castle and the former guard station. Both then and now, the Fulda main guardhouse is an important link in the Fulda Baroque quarter. The ensemble is completed by the baroque town houses on and around Bonifatiusplatz and the aristocratic palaces adjacent to the palace. These reflect the splendor of the court officials. The Palais Buttlar and the Palais von der Tann also form the imposing end of the stately baroque quarter and mark the entrance to the town.
