In the heart of Trier - between Porta Nigra and the Imperial Baths - the Rheinisches Landesmuseum (Center of Antiquity) offers a unique view of thousands of years of history. Here, magnificent mosaics, Roman treasures, Celtic finds and an ancient Egyptian mummy merge into a fascinating cultural forum.

With around 3,500 square meters of exhibition space and around 4,500 exhibits, the Rheinisches Landesmuseum Trier takes visitors on an impressive journey through history, from prehistory and the Roman period to the Middle Ages and modern times. Particularly impressive are the largest collection of mosaics north of the Alps, monumental burial monuments from Neumagen and the world's largest Roman gold coin hoard with over 2,600 coins.

The permanent exhibitions offer a fascinating tour of ancient Trier, then Augusta Treverorum, and reflect the city's importance as an imperial residence in late antiquity. A striking highlight is the ancient Egyptian mummy in the foyer, which has fascinated visitors for decades.

The museum not only displays spectacular finds, but is also dedicated to the everyday worlds of past eras - from the Stone Age to Celtic culture and medieval art. With special exhibitions, interactive offers and educational museum formats, history comes alive here and can be experienced by all age groups.
