Culture for all: The Schleswig-Holstein State Theatre and Symphony Orchestra has been bringing a wide variety of music theater, drama, ballet and concerts to the state's stages since 1974 - multi-faceted, regionally anchored and participatory.

With over 600 performances per season and venues from the Danish border to the Elbe, the Schleswig-Holstein State Theater and Symphony Orchestra is one of the largest state theaters in Germany. It combines artistic quality with social participation and educational work in the fields of music theater, ballet, drama, puppet theater and concerts.

With an ensemble of around 350 employees from over 20 nations, the theater not only presents productions for all age groups, but also offers space for participation and encounters with play clubs, choirs, workshops and guest performances. The productions take up stories from all eras, cover different styles and have a regional presence in Schleswig-Holstein so that as many people as possible have access to them.

The theater sees itself not only as a cultural stage, but also as a place for discourse and community: it is part of cultural networks, represents democratic values and strengthens the regional quality of life. A visit here means experiencing art as an experience in dialog - multifaceted, open and local.
