The Staatstheater Nürnberg is one of the largest multi-genre theaters in Germany and is a central cultural attraction in the metropolitan region. With its opera, drama, ballet and concert sections as well as the PLUS theater education program, the theater offers a wide range of performances for a broad audience. Over 650 performances are shown each season, including classics, contemporary plays, international dance productions and symphony concerts.
The magnificent neo-Renaissance opera house forms the architectural centerpiece of the Staatstheater and is an impressive landmark of the city. The ensemble also performs in the Schauspielhaus with the Kammerspiele and the Meistersingerhalle for major concerts. With the Extended Reality Theater (XRT), the theater is also increasingly opening up to digital and experimental formats. Special attention is paid to education: guided tours, workshops, youth projects, school partnerships and affordable U27 tickets make the theater experience accessible to all age groups. The offers in the PLUS area promote cultural participation and creative encounters.
