The Kulturpalast Dresden is more than just a concert venue - it is a vibrant meeting place that unites music, worlds of knowledge and cabaret under one roof.
The Kulturpalast is centrally located on the north side of the Altmarkt and, with its simple, modern form, shapes the urban fabric between the Semperoper, Frauenkirche and Neumarkt. Originally built as a multi-purpose hall in 1969, the building was extensively modernized from 2012 and reopened in 2017 with a new, acoustically outstanding concert hall.

At the heart of the building is the concert hall, designed according to the "vineyard" principle - with terraced tiers rising up around the stage - and offering space for around 1,750 to 1,800 listeners. The new hall was designed to finally provide the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra with a top-class acoustic home. But the Kulturpalast is more than just a venue for classical music: it is also home to the city's central library and the cabaret "Die Herkuleskeule", which means it can be used throughout the day. In the spacious foyers, visitors encounter library rooms, concert bookings, meeting areas and restaurants in an open house that combines art and everyday life.
Whether concert, cabaret, reading or lecture - the Kulturpalast Dresden is today a place where culture and community come together and the city's heartbeat can be heard.
