The Deichtorhallen Hamburg is dedicated to contemporary art and photography. With its three halls - Halle für aktuelle Kunst, Haus der Photographie and Sammlung Falckenberg - at two locations and an exhibition area of 10,000 square meters, it is one of the largest exhibition venues of its kind in Europe.
The exhibitions in the Deichtorhallen depict the immediate present, transcending borders and genres. In combination with the extraordinary architecture of the three exhibition halls, spectacular exhibitions of a high standard are created, often in cooperation with international museums.
The Deichtorhallen Hamburg are worth seeing in many respects: they are an architectural monument and an important testimony to Hamburg's history. They are an integral part of the Hamburg Art Mile, an association of six renowned art galleries in the center of Hamburg. With the "Berliner Bahnhof" restaurant and two bookshops for art and photography, they are a lively meeting place for locals and international visitors alike. Added to this is their exposed location - directly on the waterfront and in the immediate vicinity of the Oberhafen creative quarter, the Speicherstadt warehouse district and HafenCity with the Elbphilharmonie concert hall.
