The group exhibition GUTE AUSSICHTEN 2023/24/25 brings together the works of thirteen prizewinners from two years who use photography and its extensions as a driving force - to tell, invent, connect and renegotiate current issues of our time.
The double exhibition "Double Feature: gute aussichten 2023/24/25" will be shown at PHOXXI, the temporary House of Photography at Deichtorhallen Hamburg, from September 6, 2025. It combines two years of the renowned "gute aussichten" project to promote young talent and thus offers a concentrated look at the diversity and relevance of young German photography. A total of 13 positions deal with central themes of our time in very different aesthetic and media approaches - including questions of identity, memory, the environment, digital cultures and social transformation. The works range from classical photography and performative installations to multimedia video and sound concepts.
Many of the works are personal, with biographical and political undertones, without limiting themselves to fixed narratives. Some works deal with family imprints or collective traumas, while others explore digital echo chambers, social platforms or climate-related landscape changes. The artistic styles are as diverse as the themes: sometimes documentary and analytical, sometimes poetic, sensual or deliberately fragmentary.
The exhibition was curated by Sarah Gramotke, a volunteer at the House of Photography, in collaboration with the Körber Foundation and the team behind "gute aussichten". The project has existed since 2004 and offers graduates of German photography colleges an annual platform for visibility, exchange and institutional recognition. The Double Feature at PHOXXI is the first opportunity to present two cohorts in parallel - a dense, challenging and at the same time inspiring exhibition experience that not only provides artistic but also socially relevant impulses.
