Anniversary year & sensory impulses
The island of Reichenau is celebrating its 1300th birthday next year - and Constance is joining in the celebrations with the "Year of History". This is because the major state exhibition "World Heritage of the Middle Ages", in which outstanding works of art and magnificent manuscripts from the Reichenau scriptorium are on display, is part of the special celebration taking place at the Baden-Württemberg State Archaeological Museum in Constance.

The motto of the anniversary is "We are forging a bond". A wide range of events will bring people together to celebrate the founding of this impressive and significant UNESCO World Heritage Site. Installations, workshops, lectures, concerts and much more will make it possible to explore the impressive history of the monastery island and gain inspiring insights into the founding period and the monastery.
