The Franz Schubert Museum presents the life and work of the great Viennese composer in rooms that were created just a few years before his birth. Visitors reach the museum entrance through an idyllic garden, which offers the most beautiful view of the historic center of Hohenems. Schubert's short life, which produced an incredible wealth of outstanding compositions, is presented on two floors. The small hall on the upper floor, which serves as a listening room, has one of the most remarkable rococo stucco ceilings in the region.

Around 1900, the vicarage underwent various alterations in the style of the time, some of which were reversed in the course of renovation and restoration for use as a Schubert museum. Among other things, the original floors on the second floor were uncovered and the large double doors from the year of construction, which survived all the changes to the house as thermal insulation in the attic, were reinstalled.
