Two musical prodigies, two eras, two worlds of sound: When Mozart and Korngold meet, the result is an evening full of virtuosity, emotion and orchestral radiance.

Mozart and Korngold are separated by a century and a half, but both inspired the musical world in their time as child prodigies. In his "Sinfonia concertante", Mozart has four wind instruments - oboe, clarinet, horn and bassoon - play with and against each other. This tonal diversity creates exciting dialogues between the instruments, which compete with each other but also harmonize perfectly. The soloist parts are played by wind players from the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra.

The second work of the evening, the Symphony in F sharp major by Erich Wolfgang Korngold, takes us into a completely different world. Korngold, known for his film compositions, creates opulent worlds of sound in this symphony that are characterized by passion and drama. The symphony is full of energy, profound emotions and a captivating mixture of classical musical language and the great cinematic elements that characterize the composer.
The concert will be conducted by Eun Sun Kim, who is known for her precise and passionate conducting and is conducting our orchestra for the first time.
