In "Joseph Beuys. Inhabited Myths", the Kunsthalle Tübingen opens up a space for myth, material and metaphor - an intensive exhibition of works at the interface between art and life.

The exhibition "Joseph Beuys. Inhabited Myths" spans the artist's multifaceted oeuvre from November 8, 2025 to March 8, 2026. In over 100 exhibits - including drawings, sculptures, actions and films - the mythological, social and artistic impulses that permeate Beuys' life's work will come to light. The exhibition not only focuses on the individual artist, but also examines his work in the context of post-war art, ritual and community.

An important emphasis is placed on "social sculpture" - the term coined by Beuys, according to which art is not reduced to the object, but can shape society. This exhibition shows how Beuys worked with materials such as grease, felt, wood and copper, designed symbolism and staged his role as an artist-healer.
The Kunsthalle Tübingen links his oeuvre with works by companionsand contemporaries- such as Willi Baumeister, Hermann Nitsch and Meret Oppenheim - in order to make the network of influences and ideas tangible.

Visitors to this exhibition are not just entering a retrospective, but an invitation to explore the boundaries of art, ritual and society anew - an immersive exploration of images, signs and possibilities.
