The Cairo Symphony Orchestra ends its tour of Germany in the Pierre Boulez Saal with a varied program of European classical and contemporary Arabic music. Under the direction of Ahmed El Saedi, cultures, epochs and soundscapes come together in an extraordinary concert evening.

Founded in 1959, the Cairo Symphony Orchestra is one of the most important symphony orchestras in the Middle East and, under the artistic direction of Ahmed El Saedi, is particularly committed to contemporary composers from the region. At the end of their tour of Germany, the musicians will present works by Mozart, Dvořák and El Saedi himself in the Pierre Boulez Saal. The solo parts in Mozart's Sinfonia concertante will be performed by Michael Barenboim and the French-Egyptian violist Sindy Mohamed, both long-standing members of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra.
