From the precious "baptismal certificate of America" to exotic animal specimens from the former colonies, archaeological finds from Roman times, detailed forest landscapes and even a time machine - here you can find the whole world in one house. A place of adventure full of treasures great and small!

One object of global significance is the globe segment map by cartographer Martin Waldseemüller from 1507, on which America was first named - albeit after Amerigo Vespucci, who was assumed to be the discoverer of the continent. The map is the centerpiece of the exhibition "Offenburg in the world. A city between 800 and 1800″, in which 1000 years of the city's history are presented in five exciting stations. The permanent exhibition "Between Revolution and Economic Miracle" follows on from this. It shows Offenburg's political and economic path into the modern age. A big step back in contemporary history is taken in the presentation "Damn long ago! Archaeology in the Ortenau". Archaeological finds from the Stone Age to the time of the Alamanni are exhibited here. The colonial-era ethnological collection and the big game trophies from the Cron Collection are on display in the exhibition "A window to the world. The colonial collection". The interactive natural history department "Forest - Land - River" is an adventure space for young and old with many hands-on stations to touch and try out.
Exciting temporary exhibitions and a lively program of events with stimulating guided tours for adults and families are part of the museum's offer. Children can choose from over 60 educational courses and can also celebrate their birthday in the museum.

Offenburg Municipal Gallery
Contemporary art is at the heart of the exhibition activities at the Städtische Galerie Offenburg. A cross-media program offers both established artists and newcomers a forum. The Offenburg painter and draughtswoman Gretel Haas-Gerber (1903-1998) represents classical modernism, and a selection from her extensive collection is on display in one room of the gallery. The Städtische Galerie sees itself as a lively meeting place for artists and art lovers. In addition to the classic guided tours, there are artist talks, family days, courses and birthdays for children.
