In 2025, the musical festival at Bad Hall Municipal Theatre will present the legendary rock opera "Jesus Christ Superstar" by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber. This work, which has caused a worldwide sensation since its premiere in 1971, will be performed again in Bad Hall after ten years.
"Jesus Christ Superstar" tells the story of the last seven days of Jesus' life from the perspective of Judas Iscariot. The rock opera sheds light on the human emotions and conflicts of the characters, combining powerful rock music with a profound plot. The innovative musical design brought Andrew Lloyd Webber international recognition and made the work one of the most successful musicals of all time.
The proven team of Susanne Kerbl (director and costume designer) and Gottfried Angerer (musical director and stage manager) are responsible for the new production in Bad Hall. Both have already impressed in the past with their creative and sensitive interpretations and promise an intense and moving theater experience this time too.
