With British humor, musical virtuosity and plenty of charm, the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain celebrates its 40th anniversary on stage - a global celebration of music between rock, classical and tongue-in-cheek self-irony.
The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain has been touring the world with astonishing success for over four decades now. Since 1985, it has been the Ukes' declared mission to confront the seriousness of life with charm, British wit, surprising arrangements, a good dose of self-irony and simply the sheer joy of playing and entertaining: The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain has thus developed into an internationally renowned institution that is nevertheless not afraid to reinvent itself time and again.
Celebrate the 40th anniversary with us, with a rapid sprint through all musical genres: from ABBA to ZZ Top, from Tchaikovsky to Nirvana, from bluegrass to Lady Gaga and maybe even a spaghetti western to boot. A witty, quirky, irreverent, great, rousing obituary for rock'n'roll and melodic entertainment, all played on the "bonsai guitar".
