Genuine Celtic magic and Scottish joie de vivre - that's what the audience can experience when "THE SCOTTISH MUSIC PARADE" - the original from Edinburgh, comes to Offenburg on Friday, December 19 at 8 pm with their new program "Now and Then" in the Oberrheinhalle in Offenburg.
Bagpipers, drummers, musicians, singers and dancers, all flown in directly from Scotland, take the audience on a rousing, exciting and varied musical journey for an evening. In front of a castle backdrop with towers and battlements - the imitation of a Scottish castle - the artists present ever new facets of Scottish culture. Just as the impressive sound of bagpipes and drums roared through the hall and gripped the people in the stands, the next moment soulful ballads full of longing and expanse created an intoxicating atmosphere in the hall.
The participating artists are among the best that Scotland has to offer. Almost all of the participants are regular performers at the world-famous Edinburgh Tattoo. The bagpipers and drummers include many international competition winners and world champions on their instruments.
Even the combination of traditional bagpipe playing and modern rock music from Simon & Garfunkel to Phil Collins is a success. Because when the guitarists turn up the volume with their electric guitars and the entire ensemble gradually joins in with their traditional instruments to Simon & Garfunkel's "Scarborough Fair", Phil Collins' "We Wait and We Wonder", Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" or Coldplay's "Adventure Of A Lifetime", for example, goosebumps are guaranteed. Finally, the regiment of drummers brings the hall to the boil with their "drum fireworks".
The cheerful and energetic dances of Scotland exude esprit and an exuberant festive atmosphere. In ever-changing formations, magnificent costumes and costumes, the artists enter the scene and inspire each other with their tremendous joy in music and dance.
