In the special exhibition A Century in Pictures. Austria 1925-2025, the Austrian National Library is displaying formative photos from politics, society and culture. On the occasion of three important anniversaries, it invites you on a visual journey through 100 years of Austrian history.
In the year 2025 anniversary will be the 80. time the end of the Second World War with the liberation of Austria from National Socialism and the 70. time the state treaty of 1955. These two events and the positive development of Austria in the Second Republic created the conditions for the accession of Austria to the European Union on 1. January 1995.
