Since 75 years researched the BachArchive Life, work and work Johann Sebastian Bach and his family. Before 40 years opened the BachMuseum its gates for the to the public. The anniversary exhibition leads into the thrilling world of the Bachresearch a: from the unusual success story of the new Bachedition, which at the BachArchive Leipzig (GDR) and at the JohannSebastianBachInstitute Göttingen (BRD) jointly developed was developed, about the pioneering methods of paper and scribe examinations up to up to to the use of artificial intelligence in the current research.

To the exhibits include precious autographs of Bach and his sons as well as an original punch card system for determination of recorders. A prologue with historical photos, letters and other collection items makes the atmosphere of the founding period of the BachArchive briefly after foundation of the state of the GDR alive. Telegrams, business trip applications and factual reports tell of the adverse circumstances, under in which persons the Bachresearch in East and West worked together.
