One of the largest Gothic brick churches in northern Germany / Three choir windows with a total of 117 stained glass panels from the 14th century / Extraordinary depictions and unique Antichrist window.

St. Mary's is the landmark of the city of Frankfurt (Oder). The five-nave hall church is considered one of the outstanding buildings of northern German brick Gothic architecture. In April 1945, the church was badly damaged during the war and completely burnt out. The ruins were secured in the 1950s and have been renovated since 1979. The reconstruction of the enormous roof in 1996 is unparalleled in Germany. The greatest treasure, however, are the three twelve-metre-high fascinating choir windows with their colorful medieval stained glass. The picture cycle tells the story of creation, the legend of Christ and the legend of the Antichrist in 117 pictures. The remaining art treasures worth seeing - a 4.70 m high seven-flame bronze chandelier, the equally high bronze baptismal font and a gilded winged altar, which is particularly notable for the richness and high quality of its carvings - are located in the nearby church of St. Gertraud. Since 2006, St. Marien has served as a socio-cultural center. Exhibitions, concerts and an annual Christmas market take place here. Visitors can climb the 67-metre-high church tower with or without a guide. It offers an impressive panorama of Frankfurt (Oder) and the neighboring Polish city of Słubice. The view of the varied Oder landscape is breathtaking.
In the summer season, visitors have the opportunity to climb the tower to take a look at the new bell ringing system and get a bird's eye view of the city.
St. Mary's Church offers plenty of space. The roof of the nave, which was destroyed in 1945 and rebuilt in the 1990s, covers an area of over 3465 square meters. Exhibitions, concerts, theater performances, lectures and smaller devotions are regularly held here.
