The "Leere Beutel", a historic granary from the 16th/17th century, is now a municipal cultural center with event rooms and a restaurant, a jazz club, cinema and, above all, the municipal gallery, which exhibits art from the 20th and 21st centuries. In addition to the temporary exhibitions, the permanent exhibition reflects the art of Eastern Bavaria, which is expressed in works by painters such as Kurt von Unruh, Josef Achmann, Xaver Fuhr, Otto Baumann and Willi Ulfig. An ensemble of paintings and sculptures by the artists' group "SPUR" highlights the art of the post-war period. Works are regularly exchanged for new acquisitions or depot pictures in order to give regular visitors new incentives to visit the permanent exhibition.

Guido Weggenmann
Guido Weggenmann was born in Berlin in 1980. He initially trained as a wood and stone sculptor before studying sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under Professor Olaf Metzel from 2002 to 2008, where he became his master student. Today he lives and works in Kempten. Weggenmann is a painter, sculptor, performer and actionist. His works are characterized by an intensive examination of form, color and space, in the context of which he repeatedly reflects on and stages himself. In his often sculptural and painterly works, he plays with perception and the transformation of everyday objects into artistic objects. Weggenmann primarily uses geometric elements to question existing structures and open up new perspectives. In doing so, he combines minimalism with a subtle emotional depth that unfolds an intense expressive power in the reduction of forms.

International Festival of Photographic Images 2025
Founded by Martin Rosner and Andy Scholz, the 2025 festival is being launched for the fourth time and focuses on the significance of and engagement with photographic images. In other words, images that are created through photography, look like photography or claim to be photographic. This year, the focus is on what is perceived as "real" or "constructed" and where the boundaries between factuality, fashion and staging lie. The symposium will be accompanied by exhibitions presenting contemporary positions by renowned artists and the Ostkreuzschule Berlin.

After the year-long exhibition tour, the submitted books will be placed in the Regensburg State Library. This will create the first photo book prize archive, which will make all titles accessible to the public and to art historical and photo theory research in the long term. An accompanying
