Haunting, glamour and one last big performance echo: with the musical Grand Finale, Theater Basel invites you to a ghost show full of jazz sounds, showbiz ambitions and unpaid bills.
How can life be completed when there are still bills to pay? A stage accident not only deprives a diva of the grand finale of her comeback show, but also of her life. After her death, she meets a mortician who talks to the dead and fulfills their last wishes. He tries to pass this gift on to his delinquent apprentice. Philipp Stölzl and Jan Dvořák (including 'Andersen's Tales') return to Theater Basel for the musical premiere, together with song and theater music composer Christoph Israel. His songs revive the bittersweet, jazzy sound of the film musicals from the sixties.
