Since 1960, the Meiringen Music Festival has been committed to providing exciting concerts in one of the best acoustic spaces in Switzerland, which is one of the most interesting cultural-historical objects in Switzerland due to its construction with a vibrating floor and excavations that are unique in Europe. Under the artistic direction of cellist Patrick Demenga, the Meiringen Music Festival has established itself as a national festival and is one of the most important cultural events in the region.

Renowned artists from the international music scene as well as Patrick Demenga's multifaceted and exciting program compositions attract a quality-conscious audience from Switzerland and abroad. The musicians perform in Meiringen for a week and develop interpretations in various formations. This creates an intensive musical and cultural exchange, which is expressed in the special spirit of these concerts. In addition to the concerts, the audience is offered exciting events organized by the Brienz violin making school. The "Golden Bow", which is awarded to an outstanding musician by the Brienz Violin Making School Foundation at the opening concert, is an ambassador for the festival and the Brienz Violin Making School.

Artistic Director Patrick Demenga on this year's program: "In this year's program, we embark on a journey through various outer and inner spaces such as: Space Odyssey, Heavenly Spheres, Planets, Jupiter or Loops in Space and Time. We also explore night space, where we immerse ourselves in the fascinating world of dreams and the unconscious. In "Spielraum" we give free rein to homo ludens and in Espace de Souvenirs we indulge in memories. On the Mägisalp in the open air, we expand the sound space in the Echorama. The poetic and philosophical sounds of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's The Little Prince, accompanied by music by Jean-Luc Darbellay (world premiere). The young people's podium is now a permanent fixture at the festival and will delight us for the fourth time, while the children's sound workshop will give our youngest visitors space to develop their creativity. You can also look forward to the events of the Swiss Violin Making School in Brienz! I wish you many new listening experiences on this journey through time and space. "
