Between industrial noise and stadium cheers: "ILVA Football Club" brings a story of soccer, factories and the environment to life with tangible force at Theater Chur.
"ILVA Football Club" tells the success story of a small soccer team founded by workers at the Ilva steelworks in southern Italy. What begins innocuously with sport and community soon turns out to be a reflection of social reality: environmental pollution, exploitation and human suffering are part of a system in which hope and resistance are closely interwoven. The play combines documentary theater with music, physical action and the dynamics of a real play on stage.
At Theater Chur, this story is not only performed, but felt - when players, fanatical followersand the invisible shadow of the factory wrestle with each other. The production opens up spaces for reflection and emotion at the same time, for grand gestures and immediate physicality. Watching this performance is not just a sports metaphor, but a story in which people compete against the clouds of steel and smoke in their environment - with heart, music and unbroken energy.
