Evita - a woman becomes a legend! With their successful musical, the authors put the historical figure of Eva Duarte de Perón on stage larger than life and shed light on a myth.

Eva, known as Evita, fights unstoppably for her success and manages to rise from a nightclub in the Argentinian provinces to the capital Buenos Aires, where she quickly becomes the wife of the Argentinian president and unscrupulously influences the country's political developments. The people, especially the children and the poorest, venerate her like a saint and after the tragic death of the First Lady, everything sinks into mourning. Only the student Che remains unimpressed - and not only that: in retrospect, he comments on Evita's life with sarcastic words.
Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber have been capturing the hearts of audiences since 1978 with hits such as "Don't cry for me, Argentina" - Evita is a true musical classic with guaranteed catchy tunes, which Magdeburg-born director Matthias Reichwald is bringing to the stage in his first production at Theater Magdeburg.
