The Danish National Gallery Statens Museum for Kunst (National Museum of Art) is the largest museum of fine arts in Denmark and is located in the center of the capital Copenhagen.

Designed by architect Vilhelm Dahlerup (1836–1907), the museum opened in 1897. In 1998, the main building was congenially supplemented by an extension by the architect Anna Maria Indrio (* 1943).

The collection also includes works by Titian and Mantegna, Rubens and Rembrandt and Cornelis Gijsbrechts, as well as Henri Matisse, Edvard Munch, Emil Nolde and Robert Smithson, among others. But it also includes modern contemporary works by the Danes Asger Jorn, Per Kirkeby, Elmgreen and Dragset and Danh Vō.

The Royal Prints and Drawings Collection includes 300,000 works (drawings, lithographs, etchings and other art forms on paper) by Danish and international artists.
The collection of casts (Den Kongelige Afstøbningssamling) comprises over 2,000 plaster casts and has been housed in a historic packing house (Vestindisk Pakhus, Toldbodgade 40) since 1984. The works represented date back to Ancient Egypt. To save money, the collection is only open on Tuesday and Sunday afternoons.
