In the middle of Domsheide, not far from the historic market square, the concert hall Die Glocke has been standing since 1928. It is considered by connoisseurs to be one of the best concert halls in Europe.

Built according to plans by Walter Görig, the building impresses with its striking brick façade with stepped gable and its elegant Art Deco interior, which was carefully restored and supplemented with modern technology during the renovation in the 1990s. The Great Hall impresses with 1,400 seats, a perfect view and an acoustic quality that is appreciated by musicians from all over the world. Since its opening, the Glocke has offered a varied program: classical orchestral concerts, recitals, jazz, cabaret, literary formats, family events and lectures make the house a cultural meeting place for people of all ages. Numerous international artists, including many renowned soloists and conductors, have already performed here and praised the exceptional acoustics.

The name of the building goes back to a historic bell house that once stood on the same site. The current building survived the devastating fire of 1915 and was subsequently rebuilt. During the Second World War, it was temporarily used as an army club. Since the careful renovations of the 1990s, the Glocke has once again shone in its former glory - as an architectural jewel and acoustic masterpiece. In view of its 100th anniversary, a comprehensive modernization is imminent. Plans include a new music experience room, modern workshop areas and an extended foyer, which will take the concert hall into the future - without losing its historical charm.

The Glocke is much more than just a concert hall. It is a lively place of music, a meeting place for those interested in culture and a landmark of Bremen's cultural landscape. Anyone who attends a concert here not only experiences sound at the highest level, but also a piece of living city history in the heart of Bremen.
