The joy of the forest! - No subject in art history can easily surpass the forest in terms of expressiveness and the variety of interpretations associated with it.

The exhibition at Forum Würth Arlesheim brings together around 60 significant works from the Würth Collection, from Alfred Sisley to Anselm Kiefer. Changing artistic positions provide an insight into the fascination and significance of the forest and trees for people and the visual arts.
A separate forest experience room with sensory impulses and an audio forest walk in the adjacent Reinacher Heide nature reserve also build a bridge to the surrounding area and enable further individual forest experiences directly on site.
C. Sylvia Weber (Head of the Würth Group's Art and Culture Division) on the upcoming exhibition: "Around 60 significant exhibits from over 100 years, from Alfred Sisley to Anselm Kiefer, from the 19th century to the present day, invite you to take a walk through the ever-changing positions on the fascination of the forest in our exhibition. (...) In 2011, we took up the idea of the collector Reinhold Würth to realize a forest exhibition from the collection for the Kunsthalle Würth in Schwäbisch Hall and searched the entire collection - and where else would the term fit better - for forest and tree motifs. And once we were gripped by hunting fever, we did indeed find a surprisingly diverse selection.
It is not a matter of course that a private collection can present such a theme in such detail with exciting works. This undoubtedly characterizes the wealth of the Würth Collection with its more than 20,000 works of art from several eras! We are delighted about this and wish all visitors an inspiring encounter with the impressive paintings and sculptures of the Würth Collection in the exhibition station tailored to Forum Würth Arlesheim!"
