The depiction of animals in porcelain has a long tradition and combines artistry with observation of nature. Capturing the fascinating details of the animal world requires a keen understanding of anatomy, movement and textures. Fur structures, plumage, poses and facial expressions are decisive features in order to depict the figures authentically and appealingly. Every brushstroke, every sculpted detail helps to capture the essence of the animal.
What you put in your display cabinet at home was often more than just an aesthetic statement - it also reflected your own love and enthusiasm for certain animal species. One person preferred the imposing wild animal, such as the desert fox, while another opted for the gentle, friendly rabbit. In this way, each porcelain object tells a little story about its owner. Today, tins with animal motifs are still coveted collector's items.
