Lech Zürs am Arlberg is much more than just a vacation destination in summer. It is a place where nature and culture intertwine: peaks and thoughts, music and light, tradition and future. Those who hike through the mountains here encounter not only landscape, but also art, sound, and inspiration.

When the Arlberg dons its green attire in summer, Lech Zürs transforms into a place of lightness: clear mountain air, lush flowering meadows, proud peaks, and a panorama that makes everyday life seem small. Between sporting activities and enjoyable relaxation, a special blend of nature experiences and cultural inspiration unfolds here. Lech Zürs has long been not only a refuge for hikers, mountain bikers, and golfers, but also a place where art and thought gain new space at alpine heights. For years, the region has impressively demonstrated that culture in the mountains is not only possible, but also has its own unique charisma. The summer of 2026 will once again bring a series of extraordinary events that make Lech Zürs a cultural fixture in the Alpine region.

Skyspace-Lech – Art, Light, and Sky
A place where space and time become tangible: high above Oberlech lies Skyspace-Lech, created by American light artist James Turrell. In an underground oval room, a ceiling opening provides a direct view of the sky. At sunrise and sunset, changing colored light displays bathe the walls and ceiling in a quiet magic. Turrell's art is not mere contemplation, but a sensory experience – a moment of rapture between nature and perception.

Impact Lech – Thinking in the mountain air
At the beginning of summer 2026, Lech Zürs will once again become a meeting place for social debates: Under the motto "Creating facts, forming opinions," the Impact Lech symposium invites participants to discuss the challenges of the digital age. Topics such as artificial intelligence, data protection, fake news, and cybercrime will be discussed from the perspectives of science, ethics, business, and culture – exclusively, at a high level, and in the middle of the mountains.

Musicians' Day – When the mountains sing
This year, Lech is celebrating its 18th traditional Musicians' Day. Brass bands, singers, and musicians fill the valley with lively folk music and summer cheer. A day when tradition does not seem like something from a museum, but touches the soul in a very direct way.

Philosophicum Lech – The Art of Thinking
The renowned Philosophicum Lech is the highlight of late summer. Philosophers, authors, and intellectuals discuss current issues of our time – lectures, conversations, and discourses that have an impact far beyond Lech. The 29th Philosophicum Lech focuses on critical thinking – under the motto "Assisted Thinking: The New Desire for Immaturity," experts from the fields of philosophy, social sciences, and cultural studies will discuss the impact of AI, apps, and algorithms on our everyday lives. More and more people are delegating decisions to digital assistants, allowing themselves to be guided by influencers and social bots, and increasingly living in echo chambers of like-minded opinions. The symposium raises the question of what has become of the ideals of the Enlightenment and why many people willingly relinquish their own judgment. The lectures and discussion panels invite participants to question and rediscover the courage to think independently. In this way, the Philosophicum offers a space for critical reflection on one's own sovereignty, freedom, and responsibility.
