Right in the heart of Vienna, just a few steps away from St. Stephen's Cathedral, Mozarthaus Vienna opens a window into the years in which Wolfgang Amadé Mozart shaped the city - and the city shaped him. Domgasse 5 is home to his only surviving Viennese apartment, where the composer lived from 1784 to 1787 and created some of his most important works. No other place is so close to his creative everyday life.
In addition to the historic apartment, visitors can experience a multimedia presentation of Mozart's years in Vienna, his environment and his music. A special highlight is the historic baroque vault on the second basement floor: restored with great architectural flair in a perfect symbiosis of old and new, it now serves as an extraordinary event space. Thanks to its excellent acoustics, it is regularly used for chamber music concerts - a place where Mozart's spirit still resonates today. Here are the next events!
