Regensburg shines again: From March 12 to 22, 2026, the historic old town will once again be transformed into a stage for light, color, and imagination as part of the international light art festival RE.LIGHT. Facades, squares, and alleys will become projection surfaces for high-caliber light artworks from all over the world—and the UNESCO World Heritage city will reveal a completely new, fascinating side to itself.

Strolling through Regensburg, visitors encounter both familiar and hidden sights: architecture becomes art, shadows become stories, fleeting moments of light open up new perspectives on public spaces. RE.LIGHT invites visitors not only to see the city, but to discover it with all their senses—attentively, curiously, in wonder.

A special highlight of the festival awaits visitors on March 14, 2026: With "Shine & Dine," the marinaforum opens its doors for an evening that uniquely combines pleasure and art. Under the impressive, listed Zollinger ceiling, an atmospheric cosmos of light, sound, and cuisine is created.
An exquisite 6-course menu will be served at long tables, created by Michelin-starred chef Maximilian Schmidt (Roter Hahn) and head chef Christian Walderdorff (Rosenpalais). Finely composed flavors—from Lechtal lake trout to Bavarian shrimp to sophisticated potato and veal shank lasagna—make this evening a culinary journey through regional top products and creative culinary art.
While the guests enjoy their meal, Regensburg-based lighting designer Holger Dollinger stages an impressive play of colors and light on the ceiling of the Marinaforum. Music by DJ Marco Köstler accompanies the dinner and lends the evening a modern, elegant lightness.
