An adventure full of courage, friendship and freedom: Astrid Lindgren's "Ronja the Robber's Daughter" conquers the stage of the Staatsschauspiel Dresden.

Ronja, the daughter of the robber captain Mattis, discovers the forest around the venerable Mattisburg in her very own way - and makes it her kingdom. She fearlessly confronts wild druids, gray gnomes and bumpkins, braves wind and weather and loves life, her parents and the band of robbers. She should only stay away from the dangerous Hellmouth, which tore the castle in two after a lightning strike. But it is there that she meets Birk, the son of Mattis' arch-enemy Borka, who has occupied the other part of the fortress with his gang.

From then on, Ronja and Birk meet in secret while the adults continue their feud unperturbed. With friendship, courage and independence, the children confront the hatred of the rival robber gangs and show that there are other ways than fighting and revenge.

Astrid Lindgren's story, published in 1981, has long since become a favorite read for countless children - and has made Ronja a strong figure of identification for generations.
