The VISTA Science Experience Center, a unique location for science communication in Austria, opened at the beginning of October. In the heart of the campus of the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA) in Klosterneuburg, a center for dialogue between science and society is being created on around 1,500 square meters, providing new access to the world of cutting-edge research.
Embedded in the campus of the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA), the new VISTA Science Experience Center invites you to immerse yourself in the world of cutting-edge research. The VISTA Science Experience Center combines exhibition areas, learning and maker spaces, an auditorium and a coffee bar under one roof. The building was designed by the Dutch architecture firm Studio MAKS.
The first exhibition "Science in the Making - How is the knowledge of tomorrow created?" offers unique insights into research at ISTA and tells stories about the processes, ideas and people behind it. Current research questions are highlighted with interactive exhibits and objects directly from the ISTA laboratories and artistic works. From neuroscience to climate research, from quantum physics to AI - the diversity and dynamism of science in the 21st century becomes visible here.

The VISTA Science Experience Center pursues a clear goal: To make it possible to experience science as a creative, social and open process. Science is not taught as a collection of facts, but as a method of exploring the world with new questions and research.
The VISTA Science Experience Center at the heart of the Institute of Science and Technology (ISTA) campus covers a total of 1,500 square meters. The first level leads into the campus: In the lobby, visitors are welcomed by the "ISTA at a Glance" exhibition, a multimedia installation about the history, research areas and community of the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA). The VISTA Coffee Lab coffee bar, operated by Caffe vom See, invites visitors to linger and engage in dialog between researchers and visitors. A small store completes the offer on the first level.
The exhibition areas, the VISTA Lab and an auditorium are located on the lower floor. The opening exhibition "Science in the Making - How is the knowledge of tomorrow created?", which takes visitors into the world of cutting-edge research with over 50 exhibits, covers around 500 square meters.
The VISTA Science Experience Center on the ISTA campus is a place where everyone should feel welcome. Whether it's a family outing, a school class visit or a cultural program - the VISTA Science Experience Center is open to science fans of all ages with its free offerings.
