Kiepenkerl MünsterThe monument shows a wandering merchant in the Münsterland region with his back carrier, the so-called Kiepe. Typical for the Kiepenkerle was their outfit. Equipped with blue linen smocks, red neckerchiefs, caps, knotted sticks and pipes, they went from farm to farm and from house to house. In earlier times, they ensured the exchange of goods and news between town and country.
