The Alte Oper Frankfurt is one of the most important concert halls in Germany and an architectural jewel in the heart of the city

Built in the neo-Renaissance style and officially opened in 1880, it was once one of the leading opera stages in Europe. After its destruction in the Second World War, it remained a ruin for decades before being rebuilt as a concert and event venue in 1981. Today, the Alte Oper delights audiences with a varied program of classical music, jazz, pop, musicals, readings and congresses.

Around 500,000 visitors flock to over 460 events every year - an impressive testimony to its enduring appeal. The imposing building with its richly decorated façade and magnificent portico is not only an eye-catcher from the outside - the audience can also expect a stylish ambience inside: The Great Hall with its excellent acoustics offers space for around 2,500 guests, while the Mozart Hall with its more intimate atmosphere hosts smaller concerts and events. The ensemble of rooms is complemented by elegant foyers, which invite guests to linger during concert breaks or serve as a venue for receptions and exhibitions.

The Alte Oper is much more than just a place for music - it is a cultural meeting place, a piece of living city history and a stage for the big moments. Anyone visiting Frankfurt should not miss this impressive venue.
