A tribute to an artist who radically changed the relationship between the works and the viewer.

The project focuses on the research of Jannis Kounellis and its close connection to theater and performative actions. At the center of Gallery 5 is the work Senza titolo (Notte)which recalls his early experiments with the alphabet from the 1950s and tells of the artist's distancing himself from any hierarchy of seeing. Like limbs of a moving body, the letters oscillate in space and invite the viewer to decipher them and at the same time view them as pure signs.
The work Senza titolo (Nabucco) lets the tones of the aria Va pensiero echo in a slowed-down and dreamlike manner in the gallery, which thus remains located between stage and exhibition space.
At the end of the tour, a rearrangement of the work conceived by the artist for the cloister of San Lazzaro degli Armeni in Venice - in the head section - plays with the tension between materials: like a theatrical backdrop, it remains suspended to indicate a passage and a tension between the interior and exterior of the museum.
