A company outing with obstacles: In this musical comedy by the Weyher Theater, a simple car breakdown becomes the starting point for a humorous and touching story about colleagues, life crises, and surprising twists and turns.
It was supposed to be a relaxing company outing: the team from an advertising agency sets off for Legoland to spend a fun-filled day together. But shortly after departure, the plan takes an unexpected turn. The boss's old van breaks down on the highway, leaving the group stranded at the Langwedel rest stop, surrounded by highway noise, plastic cups, and an involuntary break.
While they wait for roadside assistance, the different personalities in the group become increasingly apparent. Gabi, the caring "mom" of the company, looks after everyone's well-being, while successful businesswoman Nicole seems to have given up on relationships after a failed marriage. The usually cheerful intern and influencer Rieke struggles with her own emotions on this already turbulent day. And good-natured Harald spends his time communicating with his AI app "Chatty" – even though he would actually like to confide in someone else.
Between meatballs, conversations about missed opportunities, and unexpected confessions, the mishap develops into an unusual encounter that sets the lives of those involved in motion in surprising ways. Numerous well-known songs—from "Highway to Hell" to "Ein bisschen Spaß muss sein" to "Your Song"—accompany the story and provide musical highlights.
Kay Kruppa's musical comedy was written especially for the open-air venue at Erbhof Castle in Thedinghausen. With endearing characters, plenty of humor, and live music, it promises to be a summer theater evening that shows that even a rest stop can be the setting for grand emotions.
