From April 20, 2024, the QUEENS art galleries in Emmendingen near Freiburg will be showing over 70 original signed works of art by Bob Dylan under the title "Bob Dylan | The Drawn Blank Series And More", as well as selected unique works on paper by the world-famous multi-talent.

Folk musician, singer-songwriter, poet, protest singer and painter - Bob Dylan is a true multi-talent. This exhibition shows that Bob Dylan succeeds like few other artists in conveying complex perceptions and feelings on several artistic levels. More than 15 years ago, the exhibition "Bob Dylan | The Drawn Blank Series And More" was shown at the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz. It was the
world's first museum exhibition of works by Bob Dylan. The curator was the director of the art collections in Chemnitz, Dr. Ingrid Mössinger. The world premiere of Dylan's art did not take place in New York, Tokyo or Barcelona in 2007, but in Germany. For this reason, Dr. Mössinger will give a lecture on April 20 at
at 5 pm, as well as on April 21, 2024 at 3 pm, Dr. Mössinger will personally introduce the exhibition and explain the story behind the creation of the "Drawn Blank Series". Dr. Mössinger was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit First Class in 2016 for her outstanding services.

"Drawn Blank Series"
"I just drew whatever I felt like and whenever I felt like it. The idea was always to do it without affectation, to give a kind of panoramic view of the world as I personally saw it at that moment." (Bob Dylan about his "Drawn Blank Series")
While touring America, Europe and Asia, Dylan made pencil and charcoal sketches between 1989 and 1992. This enabled him to collect impressions and scenarios on his travels, which were shaped by encounters with other cultures, calmed his mind and reorganized his thoughts.
Over the years, Dylan's drawings were reworked, adding color, detail and depth. The "Drawn Blank Series" has its roots in these early sketches and becomes an "illustrated diary" showing "snapshots" of Dylan's life, portraits, historical places, panoramas and hidden corners.
