Donations and new acquisitions

The exhibition shows a selection of donations and new acquisitions, together with the museum's own collections. Visitors will discover thematically very different works from the 17th century to the present day, including works by Johann Heinrich Roos (Hunting Dogs and a White Fawn, 17th century), Bartholomeus van der Helst (Portrait of a Boy with a Goldfinch after Charles the Brambling, 17th century) and Bartholomeus van der Helst (Portrait of a Boy with a Goldfinch after Charles the Great). These include works by Johann Heinrich Roos (Hunting dogs and white fawn, 17th century), Bartholomeus van der Helst (Portrait of a boy with a goldfinch) after Charles Antoine Coypel (Two children building card houses, 1753), after Carlo Maratta (The Adoration of the Magi, 18th century), Henri van Assche (Mill on a watercourse, 1809) and a large number of etchings by Alexandre Calame (1810 - 1864).

Works by well-known Luxembourg artists from the 19th century to the present day are further highlights of the exhibition. They include works by Jean-Baptiste Fresez (1800 - 1867) and Auguste Trémont (1892 - 1980), works by the Impressionist Dominique Lang and the "Secessionists" such as Joseph Kutter, Harry Rabinger and Jean Schaack.

Recent donations and acquisitions complement the museum's collection and at the same time enrich it with new focal points.
