The International Music Festival "Chopin and his Europe", organized by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute, examines Chopin's work through the masterpieces of other artists, especially those who inspired him. It also refers to the genius composer's time and presents, among other things, the works of his friends, Polish composers who were close to Chopin, for whom the memory of their posterity was less merciful, and who left behind works of great value.

Every year they come to Warsaw at the invitation of the Institute to perform at the Festival: World stars of pianism, important chamber musicians, virtuosos of various instruments, conductors, outstanding ensembles... Among those who have been invited to Warsaw several times are Martha Argerich, Nelson Goerner, Garrick Ohlsson, the Orchestra of the 18th Century, Europa Galante, the Collegium 1704, the Sinfonia Varsovia...

A particular value of the Chopin and His Europe festival is to revive the original sound of works played on period instruments or copies of them, bringing us closer to the aura of Chopin's time. Legendary ensembles and soloists who specialize in historical performances are regular guests at the festival and bring us closer to the magical image of bygone eras. The pianists play on pianos from the Institute's collection, which has an extensive collection of instruments from the Chopin era: the famous Pleyel, Erard, Broadwood as well as a copy of the Buchholtz piano (Chopin's Warsaw instrument) and the Viennese Count.

Every year, the festival in Warsaw gathers an audience of several thousand people, including many music lovers from Poland and abroad, who come to our capital city especially for this event. The festival has its fans and listeners all over the world.
