This is not the way you want to grow up: neglected, lovelessly raised by a foster father who only wants to use the unloved pupil to take revenge on his brother.

This is what happens to the orphan Siegfried at the blacksmith Mime's. But despite everything, Siegfried develops amazing abilities: He learns by observing nature and breaks away from Mime - albeit in a brutal way. He wants to conquer the world, seeks adventure, does not even shy away from fighting the giant worm Fafner, unwittingly confronts his divine grandfather and in the end finds his first great love...

The third part of Richard Wagner's The Ring of the Nibelung tells the story of the young hero Siegfried in an almost comical way, almost making us forget that the origins and entanglements of the previous story, of which the hero of course knows nothing, deprive the young man of what he is most likely looking for: Freedom. Polish director Ewelina Marciniak continues her exploration of Wagner's grand narrative of the Nibelung myth. The musical direction is once again in the hands of chief conductor Nicholas Carter.
