Every two years since 1994, the international picture, object and puppet theater festival FIGURA has presented top-class productions from Switzerland and abroad, including numerous Swiss premieres.
FIGURA takes place every two years in June in all theaters in Baden and Wettingen and on streets and squares. Performances in other neighboring communities are also possible. The festival presents a top-class program of selected productions from the domestic and international puppet theatre scene. The program is aimed primarily at an adult audience, but also at families and school classes. Founded in 1992, it is considered the most important festival of its kind in German-speaking Switzerland and enjoys international recognition.
FIGURA is a highlight in the Aargau cultural landscape. The puppet theater festival shows that contemporary puppet theater is a highly independent, innovative art genre and initiates a versatile and creative examination of puppet theater and its current content.
