The new exhibition Collection Insights at the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich offers a variety of insights into curatorial, researching and mediation activities. Topics such as the collection of processes or digital objects, the explorationof individual holdings and the handling of collectionobjects in design theory show how the collections are used and communicated today.

What new objects is the museum adding to its collection? What challenges and tasks are involved? Who uses the collection objects and how? For the first time, the museum is focusing on the processes that take place behind the objects of its extensivecollection. Seven perspectives on the collection show how the museum deals with digital objects and the possibilities of digitization, how it researches the provenance of its holdings, which objects young people are interested in, and how aspiring designers and curatorscan use the collection. From different angles, Collection Insights takes a close look at the practice of collecting and makes visible how collecting, exhibiting andmediation interact in the museum.
