An insider tip for lovers of guitar music! Every year, the top stars of the international guitar scene perform for a week at the Liechtenstein Guitar Days ligita. Every year at the beginning of July, the small but top-class festival takes place in the Liechtenstein lowlands with concerts, courses, workshops and exhibitions around the guitar. Today, the Liechtenstein Guitar Days ligita are one of the most important events for guitar in Europe. Music, culture, quality content and friendly exchange of art, knowledge and information are the motivating goal and motto.

Duo Wiedemann & Kosho
Kosho, guitarist of the band "Söhne Mannheims" with a 3-octave voice, and Augustin Wiedemann, internationally renowned concert guitarist, regularly present a range of works from Renaissance composer John Dowland to the jazzy Brazilian pieces of Egberto Gismonti at their concerts. The two "exceptional guitarists" (Passauer Neue Presse, Feuilleton) have recently been on tour through Andalusia and at guitar festivals in Germany, France, Austria, Liechtenstein and Italy.

Hauser Trio
The Hauser Trio with Romana Hauser, Ruth and Stefan Hackl plays folk music from the Bavarian-Tyrolean border area as well as "classical" country music by Mauro Giuliani on guitars by Hermann Hauser (1882-1952).

Alvaro Pierri with Chamber Orchestra
Alvaro Pierri is internationally regarded as one of the most fascinating personalities in the world of guitar. The press worldwide praises "his masterfully thought-out interpretations", the "breathtaking phrasing", his "overwhelming, brilliant technique" and "the almost inexhaustible spectrum of timbres that he is able to elicit from the guitar". Celebrated by audiences and critics alike, the Uruguayan-born artist is a regular guest at the major concert halls of Europe, North and South America and Asia. On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of ligita, Alvaro Pierri will perform this special concert evening together with a chamber orchestra.

Lovro Peretić
Lovro Peretić was born in Zagreb in 1995 and began his guitar studies with Xhevdet Sahatxhija. He later graduated from the Academy of Music in Zagreb, where he studied with Darko Petrinjak and spent a year with Judicaël Perroy at L'École Supérieure Musique et Danse Hauts-de-France in Lille as part of a student exchange program. Lovro Peretić is a laureate of numerous international competitions and won the 11th international ligita guitar competition in 2022, among others. The talented Croatian artist will pick up his first prize at ligita 2023 in the form of a Studio Live Session at Little Big Beat Studios in Eschen. With the professional sound and image recording of the highest quality, ligita hopes to significantly support her aspiring career.

Manolo Franco y Su Grupo de Flamenco
Manolo Franco Barón was born in Seville and he may have been born with a guitar that he held strongly in his arms. In 1984, at the age of 24 and in competition with the great maestros of guitars, his extraordinary talent and musical vocation earned him the trophy "Giraldillo del Toque" (Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla). The prize was awarded to him unanimously. The jury judged him on the basis of three aspects of guitar playing: the accompaniment of singing, of dancing and the solo. Manolo was and is impressively good at everyone.

Guitar Presentation
Every year, guitar makers, guitar and music dealers present their products and services during ligita. Those interested can try out instruments or browse through the diverse assortment. On Wednesday of the festival week, the traditional guitar presentation will take place at the Eschen Music School Centre. A lecturer plays various pieces of music on selected instruments of the exhibiting luthiers in order to illustrate the specific differences in sound to the listener. The luthiers will briefly introduce themselves and their philosophy and answer questions about the instruments presented.

Open Stage
At this concert, the stage belongs to the master class and workshop leaders. The outstanding guitarists and pedagogues teach up-and-coming talents from all over the world for a week at the Liechtenstein Guitar Days ligita and give them tips and tricks for their way to becoming professional musicians. The Open Stage offers them a stage to perform together with an up-and-coming talent, to present a newly composed piece, to play classical, tango or folk music. The concert programme is put together spontaneously by the lecturers. Let yourself be surprised!

David Russell
David Russell is world-renowned for his outstanding technique on the instrument and his effortless performance of works of the highest standard. Born in Glasgow to a painter couple, Russell grew up in Es Migjorn Gran in Menorca from the age of seven.
In his recordings, Russell covers a wide range of classical guitar music from the Renaissance to contemporary compositions. In addition to the recordings, Russell also has numerous editions and arrangements of works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Domenico Scarlatti, Enrique Granados and Isaac Albaniz, among others, which contributed significantly to the further development of modern classical guitar playing.

2nd International Ligita Competition "Guitar Plus 1"
In the final of the international ligita competition "Guitar Plus 1", the best duos with guitar and an instrument/vocals will meet after two preliminary rounds. The up-and-coming talents will present their skills in front of a five-member international jury and the audience present.
International guitar competitions within the framework of ligita have a proven tradition. Winners of these young talent competitions can be found on concert stages all over the world.

Final Concert of the Ligita
Traditionally, the last concert evening of the festival week belongs to the course participants. They travel from many parts of Europe and Asia to attend courses and workshops with renowned guitar masters during this week. At the same time, they get to know Liechtenstein as a country.
The final concert will be performed by soloists and ensembles. Classical and folk music are represented as always. In addition, the course participants form a large guitar orchestra under the direction of Enric Madriguera.
