In an intoxicating panorama of color, form and memory, "Edita Schubert: Profusion" opens up new approaches to the artistic world of those who worked in the shadow of the canon.

The exhibition "Edita Schubert: Profusion" at the Muzeum Susch in Switzerland presents the first comprehensive retrospective outside Croatia of the artist, who created a remarkable range of works from the early 1970s until her much too early death in 2001.
From hyper-realistic beginnings to installation-like "Doorways" (1978) to collaged and ambient works that deal with war, identity and transience - her oeuvre spans an arc from young experimentation to masterful maturity of form and theme. In the exhibition, we learn how Schubert played with materiality, color and space, developing a style that meant "profusion" in the literal sense of the word: a lush abundance, a creative overabundance that is at the same time precisely sensed.

The twelve galleries of the museum invite visitors to discover Schubert's self-portraits, spatial spaces of the soul and references to nature and history. Her installations allow visitors to actually step through spaces of memory - both literally and figuratively. In this way, the exhibition not only provides a look back at an often overlooked work, but also an invitation to rethink the present and art history.
