At the end of the Jazz im Konzerthaus season, two old friends meet in the foyer of the Rudolf-Oetker-Halle for a duo evening.
Magnus Lindgren and John Beasley. The two have recently become familiar faces in Bielefeld, having created the unique homage Dimensions of Wayne Shorter to the jazz legend Shorter together with the Bielefeld Philharmonic Orchestra, for example. The fact that Beasley and Lindgren speak the same musical language is proven by countless joint productions on and off stage - their joint production Bird Lives with the SWR Big Band, or more precisely their arrangement Scrapple from the Apple, was awarded a Grammy in 2023. This intensive collaboration on the arrangements for the SWR Big Band and the Bielefeld Philharmonic Orchestra also brought Lindgren and Beasley closer together on stage, which prompted them to bring a duo program to the stage and produce it as a CD.
